Description

The Enfield No.2 Mk IV revolver produced at the Royal Small Arms Factory, calibre .38/200 (.38 S&W). The “top-break” frame with automatic extractor is typical of British military revolvers of the interwar period and WWII. The Enfield No.2 Mk IV revolver was adopted by the British Army in 1932 to replace the famous Webley Mk VI in .455 calibre. The new model used the .38/200 (.38 S&W) cartridge, which was easier to control and more compact for modern military use.
The example in the photograph looks very good aesthetically: it has an original “collector” appearance and has not been refinished; the edges are still well preserved and the wear is moderate and credible. The long barrel is octagonal, with crisp rifling. It is not a heavily worn front-line piece.
Estimated market valuation (2025):

refinished/commercial 400 – 800 €
genuine military Enfield No.2, matching 800 – 1,500 €
Rare variant/long barrel/documented 1,500 – 2,500 €
Complete military rig/documented 3,000 €+
