MAUSER C96 Cal. 7,63×25 Mauser

Mauser C96 in 7.63×25 mm Mauser — the classic original configuration of the famous “Broomhandle”. The example pictured also includes the wooden holster stock, an iconic accessory that is very important for its collector value. The Mauser C96 was introduced in 1896 and became one of the world's first commercially and militarily successful semi-automatic pistols. Owing to the distinctive shape of its grip, it earned the nickname “Broomhandle”. It is one of the most recognisable historic firearms in the world.
The pistol's original cartridge was the 7.63×25 mm Mauser, a very fast cartridge for its time and extremely accurate. It is the direct forerunner of the Soviet 7.62 Tokarev cartridge (en.wikipedia.org).
The example shown displays natural wear on the edges, an old matt finish, period-correct grips and a stock with beautifully aged wood. The holster stock attached to the rear of the grip, turning the pistol into a small carbine. On the C96, the original stock is essential to its value.
