Description

Soviet Nagant M1895 revolver, made in 1937 at the Tula factory (Imperatorskiy Tulsky Oruzheiny Zavod). The Soviet star and the year “1937” are classic markings of pre-WWII production. The Nagant M1895 was adopted by the Russian Empire in 1895 and remained in service for an extraordinarily long time (the Tsarist army, the Russian Revolution, the Red Army, the NKVD and the Second World War, with secondary use until after 1950). It was designed by the Belgian Nagant brothers and is famous for its unique mechanism: the cylinder moves forward when the revolver is cocked, the cartridge case seals the gap between cylinder and barrel, and this allows a suppressor to be used effectively (very rare for a revolver).

The revolver offered is an interwar Soviet Nagant, made in 1937. Notable features are the Tula Soviet star, an even finish, correct Soviet Bakelite grips, light wear and the typical look of a post-WW2 Soviet arsenal refurbishment.
It takes 7.62×38R Nagant ammunition, 7 rounds, loaded singly through a side gate.
The mechanism is double-action/single-action.
