Description
The model pictured is a Smith & Wesson Model 66-4, one of the most highly regarded variants of the “Combat Magnum” series.
The Model 66 appeared in the early ’70s as a stainless-steel version of the famous Model 19, built on the K-Frame and intended primarily for American police. It quickly became popular thanks to its combination of relatively light weight, a powerful calibre (.357 Magnum) and corrosion resistance. The 66-4 variant was introduced in 1994.
Calibre: .357 Magnum / .38 Special; Frame: stainless K-Frame; Capacity: 6 rounds; Action: SA/DA; Common barrel lengths: 2.5”, 3”, 4”, 6”
The revolver in the photograph is in very good condition: very well-preserved stainless finish, original wood grips, no obvious signs of corrosion or major dents.
Indicative estimate for the European market:
1,000 – 1,400 € for a standard example in good condition; 1,500 – 2,000 €+ if fully original, with box/documents and excellent mechanics; the rare 2.5” or 3” variants can exceed these values.
On the Romanian market, the price can vary depending on legal status, provenance, internal mechanical condition and the rarity of the configuration (barrel length, target sights, original grips, etc.).
