Description
The revolver pictured is an Italian Uberti replica of the famous Colt Army Model 1860, a black-powder (“black powder” / cap & ball) revolver and one of the most important handguns of the American Civil War. From the photograph it appears to be a premium Uberti version, with a blued finish and a colour case-hardened frame. The Colt Army Model 1860 was introduced by Samuel Colt in 1860 as a .44-calibre military revolver for the US cavalry. It quickly became the Union’s standard sidearm in the American Civil War.
Specifications: .44 or .36 percussion calibre, loaded with black powder and percussion caps, 6-shot cylinder, single action, long barrel for better accuracy and power.
The example pictured is an Uberti Colt Army .36 model (the “Cal .36” marking is visible), an Army transitional-style version made in 1975, with a premium finish, case hardening and engraved cylinder, in very good condition, with clean, well-preserved wooden grips.
Market valuation (2025)
For an Uberti black-powder Army/Navy in very good condition:
550 – 800 € for standard variants; 800 – 1,100 € for premium finishes and excellent condition.
