FAQ

Frequently asked questions – Rifles

What is the difference between a rifled and a smoothbore firearm?

A rifled barrel has helical grooves that spin the bullet, giving it stability and accuracy at long range. It is used for big game and precision shooting. A smoothbore barrel fires shot or slugs over shorter distances.

Which calibre should I choose for hunting?

It depends on the game and the distance: medium calibres (for example .308 Win, 7×64, 8×57 IS) are used for roe deer and wild boar, while large calibres (such as .375 H&H) are used for big game. Observe the minimum calibres set by hunting legislation; we will help you choose the right firearm.

Can I fit a scope to my carbine?

Yes, most modern carbines have a rail or drilled holes for a scope mount. On collector’s firearms, fitting a scope can reduce the value of the piece, so we recommend asking us first.
